FoundHER, President, Board of Directors,
and Chief Executive Officer
Niko M. Cook is a Human Capital Executive, C-Suite leader, founder, executive governance advisor, board advisor, curator, speaker, and strategist whose transformative career in Human Resources and Strategic Operations began in Chicago with the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago. There, she built a strong foundation in human capital management, operational excellence, and organizational strategy, a foundation that has guided her through more than three decades of leadership across diverse sectors, industries, and geographies.
Currently, Niko serves as Chief People, Culture, and Operations Officer for a leading scientific research institution located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In this executive role, she leads Human Resources, Information Technology, Facilities Management, Risk Management, and Research Services. She is responsible for driving organizational effectiveness, strengthening cross-functional collaboration, advancing institutional strategy, and cultivating a culture of inclusion, innovation, and operational excellence. Her work focuses on building sustainable people and culture strategies, enhancing employee engagement, strengthening leadership effectiveness, and positioning the organization for long-term growth and success.
Niko is the FoundHER, President, and Chief Executive Officer of the Black Women Executive Human Resources LeadHERship Collective Society, a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to championing, connecting, and elevating Black women in executive leadership, while creating meaningful opportunities for allies and strategic partners to engage in the advancement of leadership equity and executive excellence. She is especially recognized for bringing together strategic executive leaders from across industries, sectors, and lived experiences to foster meaningful dialogue, authentic connection, and transformational leadership experiences.
In addition, Niko serves as Director, Workforce Readiness for the Pennsylvania State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management (PA SHRM), where she strategically leads statewide initiatives focused on workforce participation, talent pipelines, career readiness, employer engagement, and cross-sector workforce collaboration.
She has also provided longstanding leadership to the Greater Valley Forge Human Resources Association, where she has served as Special Interest Group (SIGS) Board Director, President-Elect, President, Immediate Past President, President and Past President. Through these roles, she has advanced professional development, workforce readiness initiatives, strategic programming, and member engagement while building meaningful bridges across Pennsylvania’s Human Resources community.
She is particularly known for her ability to bridge business, education, government, nonprofit, and workforce development sectors to address complex organizational, workforce, and operational challenges. She is also highly regarded for her ability to align people, strategy, operations, and technology to strengthen organizational effectiveness, modernize systems, and support sustainable growth. She is equally recognized for her ability to build, strengthen, and drive advancement across organizations, teams, leadership structures, and strategic initiatives. Widely recognized for her inclusive and transformative leadership style, Niko is a trusted advisor who fosters innovation, drives meaningful culture change, and builds high-performing teams and organizations.
Throughout her career, she has worked for and consulted with Fortune 500 companies, top foundations, educational institutions, healthcare organizations, and mission-driven nonprofits, delivering people-centered solutions that align with strategic business priorities and foster sustainable growth.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources Management, with a minor in Organizational Development and Design. Over the course of her career, she has been both appointed and elected to serve on 58 boards of directors, civic commissions, advisory councils, and nonprofit governing bodies, where she has consistently influenced workforce policy, leadership development, governance, and community advancement. She also serves on the Advisory Board for the School of Business for Langston University School of Business, where she supports strategic initiatives, leadership development, student success, and the advancement of future business leaders.
Niko’s contributions have earned her multiple nominations for Human Resource Person of the Year and Woman of the Year, along with invitations to present, moderate, and facilitate at national conferences. She remains deeply committed to her faith, family, building innovative and equitable workplaces, and inspiring and empowering the next generation of executive leaders.
